The Big Berlin Breakdown: Free Pitch Slam Tickets!

By Claire Adamson |

Check out Silicon Allee’s weekly rundown of all the best events going on in our fair city: what’s happening, what’s coming up and what may be of interest; whether you be investor, entrepreneur or hacker.

And a special this week – you could win one of three free tickets to Pitch Slam on Wednesday! See below for more.

This week’s big event is the Pitch Slam on Wednesday, a fun and friendly competition to see who has the very best pitch in Berlin. Hosted by the guys behind TWiST Berlin, 12 teams in four different categories will battle it out head to head, with an overall winner being declared at the end of the night. The idea of the evening is to foster the spirit of collaboration amongst Berlin’s startups and to provide feedback and help for startups that are just starting out.

The Pitch Slam will take place outdoors from 7pm at YAAM, with the evening sun hopefully shining on participants and audience alike. The event will be great for young startups, entrepreneurs, investors and people looking to network.

If you want to enter the Pitch Slam, it’s not too late: you can sign up on the website here, and tickets to watch are €12 here.

But Silicon Allee has three tickets to give away: leave a comment below and we will choose winners on Wednesday morning.

Also happening this week is the Berlin Hack and Tell meetup, a chance for hackers and developers to show off their latest hacks or projects. As usual it is a sellout, but you can sign up for the waiting list on the website. If you secured your place early then you should have an excellent evening of hearing some great ideas and enjoying that startup staple, pizza and beer. From 6:30pm at c-base Raumstation.

On Thursday night, the Founder Institute Startup Pitch Bootcamp is an intensive workshop where budding entrepreneurs will have a chance to learn from experts about the fine art of pitching. Featuring talks from entrepreneurs, consultants and performers, the evening will be excellent for young entrepreneurs and those who want to work on their pitching. Thursday 2 July, 7pm at Betahaus.

There is lots of good stuff coming up too. Next week is Berlin Startup Academy’s Quiz Show from Hell: Sued, Taxed and Quartered, on Wednesday August 8, and the same night is the Open Tech School’s first meetup. After that it’s just a few short weeks until Campus Party and TOA Berlin.
