By Claire Adamson |

After an intense two days of pitching, 20 nervous startup teams were whittled down to ten on Saturday as it was announced who would be invited to take part in the Startupbootcamp accelerator program.

The ten teams, listed below, were chosen from over 300 applications and will participate in the three month program that aims to give startups a huge boost with working space, seed funding and access to an impressive list of mentors in the Berlin startup scene.

The teams will gather at the Startupbootcamp HQ in Kreuzberg at the beginning of September for the program which will culminate in an Investor Demo Day on November 27, giving the new startups a chance to show off their businesses to a big audience of investors, entrepreneurs and media.

The top ten come from as far afield as Australia and the US, as well as from Germany and Europe. They span a huge range of subjects and business models, from front end development to online video mash ups and social search networks.

The chosen teams were all incredibly enthusiastic about their victory and are looking forward to the start of the program. Sherwood Forlee of Raidarrr, a location based discovery app, said: “It’s really a nice relief – kind of a validation that our efforts resulted in something tangible like Startupbootcamp Berlin.”

Connor McEwen of Webcred, a security system for peer to peer marketplaces, said: “It’s cool to get a different perspective and be in a different city and we’re really looking forward to being in the program.”

Whilst he was sad to let the other teams go, organizer Alex Farcet was delighted with the top ten: “We had a really strong consensus on the top teams and a lot of debate in the middle, but I think it’s the best batch we’ve ever had. I’m super happy.”
