The Big Berlin Breakdown: August 20-25

Check out Silicon Allee’s weekly rundown of all the best events going on in our fair city: what’s happening, what’s coming up and what may be of interest; whether you be investor, entrepreneur or hacker.

Monday:

Hacks/Hackers is a meetup that seeks to join the worlds of hacking and journalism with the aim of sharing ideas and inspiration and shaping the future of media. This will be an interesting event for hackers, developers and of course journalists. From 7:30pm at co.up.

Tuesday:

The Berlin Twackers is a group of developers who use the Twitter API for work or play. They meet on the third Tuesday of the month to share projects and discuss issues. This event is great for developers who are interested in seeing what other people are doing with the Twitter, or who would like to show off their own project. At cbase, see here for details.

Of course, Tuesday evening will also mark the beginning of Campus Party. If you are lucky enough to be one of the 10,000 Campuseros at the sold-out event, then you will likely be at Tempelhof Airport for the opening ceremony which kicks off at 11pm.

Wednesday:

Danae Ringelmann, the co-founder of Indiegogo, is in town this week for Campus Party and will be hosting a meet up on Wednesday night for entrepreneurs, artists, philanthropists and other Indiegogo enthusiasts. This is a great chance to get involved with the Indiegogo community or to pick the brain of an extremely successful entrepreneur. From 6pm at Sankt Oberholz.

Thursday and Friday:

The end of the week will be awash with events surrounding TOABerlin. The festival begins at 10am on Thursday at Kater Holzig with a big list of speakers and workshops, and continues on Friday with satellite events hosted by startups all over Berlin.

Silicon Allee will also be throwing a massive Summer Party this Friday at Prince Charles – come and wind down with us after a mad week!

Coming Up:

Leancamp – August 27, Angel and Venture Capital Investment Term Sheets – August 28, TEDx Berlin – August 31.
