The Big Berlin Breakdown: December 3 – 9

Check out Silicon Allee’s weekly rundown of all the best events going on in our fair city: what’s happening, what’s coming up and what may be of interest whether you be investor, entrepreneur or hacker.

Monday

The Lean Startup Conference is coming to Berlin – albeit via a live stream from San Francisco. The aim is to bring startup folk and established companies together to discuss how to build profitable lean organizations. With keynote speeches by Eric Ries and Steve Blank, the forces behind Lean Startup, tickets are free. From 6pm at Andreasstraße 10.

Tuesday

Silicon Allee’s monthly meetup will provide the chance to do some Noel networking. Hosted at Sankt Oberholz, it will be a great way to chat with contacts and make new ones. We will be there from 9am on Tuesday, December 4. There are no speakers, and you don’t have to RSVP; just pop by, grab some coffee, and mingle with the great and good of the Berlin startup scene.

Tech Meetups is running a drinks and demo night to get to know the Berlin scene a little better. It already organises global events from Moscow to Miami, while there will be pitching, presentations, and a link up with the London and New York communities. If you fancy it just email mirjana[at]techmeetups[dot]com. The location is revealed once you sign up, from 7.30 pm.

Wednesday

The Collaborative Venture Academy, organized by the CEO Collaborative Forum and Europe Unlimited, is inviting a mixture of CEOs from across the continent to engage in a day of problem solving – mostly to do with financial problems. A precursor to the European Venture Summit, it looks set to be a good place to find tips on making your company more ‘investable.’ Tickets are free. From 12pm at Hotel DOMICIL.

Stackoverflow, the Q&A site for hackers, is launching Careers 2.0, which will list jobs in German for the first time. Vice president Jeff Szczepanski will be swinging by to demo it, while there will also be Stackoverflow developers  on hand to have their brains picked, plus music by SoundCloud DJs. Register here, from 5.30pm at betahaus.

There will be a Crowdfunding and Fundraising Roundtable on Wednesday to explain the best ways to go about the increasingly popular method of getting investment. Speaking will be Jens-Uwe Sauer, CEO of Seedmatch, and Mario Paladini, CEO of G1obals, to share their wisdom, and Danilo Sierra, talking about how he raised $150,000 in one month. Go if you’re considering crowd funding. Sign up here, at RallyPad from 7pm.

The Stammtisch Community and Social Media Manager Meetup enables the socialites of the Berlin startup scene to gather and discuss the problems of the job. Old hands will be there to share their pearls of wisdom. No need to register, just turn up. At KommerzPunk from 7pm.
