By David Knight |

The Big Berlin Breakdown is back – check out Silicon Allee’s weekly rundown of all the best events going on in our fair city: what’s happening, what’s coming up and what may be of interest whether you be investor, entrepreneur or hacker.

Monday to Friday

Social Media Week is on all this week at two different venues. There will be a variety of talks, workshops and panel discussions, with different themes including education, art, marketing and advertising and entrepreneurship. Check out more here.

Thursday to Saturday

A bit of a different one, this – check out the Art Hack Day, which describes itself as ‘part happening, part hackathon’. Its for hackers whose medium is art and artists whose medium is tech, and will see some 60 participants take over LEAP to create a flash exhibit on the theme of ‘Going dark’. At Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse 13, from 7pm on Thursday.

Friday

The September edition of FridayatSix takes place at the NorisBank HQ near Zoologischer Garten, and speakers include Marco Lindgens of NorisBank, Guido Sandler of Bergfürst, Konstantin Wolff of Payleven and Avuba’s Jonas Piela. You can buy tickets here – they get you beer and pizza. At Hardenbergstrasse 32, from 8-9pm.

BUT WAIT – you can also grab yourself a FREE ticket courtesy of Silicon Allee by using the code ‘Fat6LovesSiliconAllee’. But be quick, they’re limited!

Saturday

If you think startup rock, then this is the event for you. The Battle of the Startup Bands is back, with 20-minute sets featuring tech folk playing actual musical instruments. There will be music from silly to awesome, a jury and a great crowd. Organised by the Berlin Startup Academy, the event is part of the People in Beta festival. The Facebook page is here, the Eventbrite pages here and here. At betahaus at Prinzessinnenstrasse 19, from 6.30-10pm.
