The Big Berlin Breakdown: September 30 – October 6

By David Knight |

Want to know what’s going on in the world of tech events? The Big Berlin Breakdown, the city’s original and best curated events guide, will help you discover what’s happening, what’s coming up and what may be of interest be you investor, entrepreneur or hacker.

Wednesday

Tech is a gambler’s world – to be an entrepreneur you have to be willing to roll the dice every now and again. That’s why Startup Poker is so popular. A special edition of the Texas hold’em tournament is being held in Berlin with event partner Startupbootcamp and venue partner The Startup Gallery. Sponsor William Hill will be adding €380 to the prize pool. Buy in is €20 or free if you sign up for a William Hill account. You need to sign up for the event here. At Charlottenstrasse 2, from 7pm.

Thursday

The folks at HowDo are intent on helping the world share its everyday knowledge. On each first Thursday of the month, you can go along to the startup’s HQ and bring anything you need help with or that needs repairing for a little practical problem solving. There will be beer and pizza, of course. Sign up here. At Ritterstrasse 12-14, from 7pm.

Sunday

Startup sport is about bringing the community together to have a bit of fun and get the competitive juices flowing. Next up is the launch of the Beach Volleyball Liga, which will help you keep the summer in mind as the days shorten and the leaves fall. It’s a two-month league with weekly games in Friedrichshain. Registration is now open and it costs €150 per team per month, but free for Urban Sports Club members. Look here for more info.
