Betahaus Berlin will host a one-day ‘festival’ of startups, coworking and DIY culture this Saturday. The People in Beta Festival will include a range of workshops and open sessions, as well as the chance for new (non-copycat) startups to take part in Betapitch, where they can win a base at betahaus for six months to put themselves on the tech map and find investment.
The event will also feature talks by people from companies like doonited, Third Wave and EyeEm. The standout name, however, is Alexander Ljung, founder of Soundcloud, who will be talking at the event in the afternoon. The day will start with a big community breakfast for everyone from 10.30 a.m. And, of course, it will finish with a big party downstairs at the venue in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district.
Anyone wanting to attend the breakfast and workshops will need to register, while the talks are open to everyone. Betahaus is located at Prinzessinenstraße 19-20, on Moritzplatz, and offers around 2,000 square metres of space for “innovations, creativity and professional working.” It has played host to around 200 freelance professionals since April 2009, including graphic designers, programmers and photographers, and it has helped plenty of startups along the way as well.
