It makes sense – Berlin is renowned as a creative and innovative place, whose inhabitants like to buck the norm and do things differently. So naturally, many film aficionados will want to shun Hollywood and turn their attentions to Indie cinema instead.
And a new Berlin startup called cinovu promises doing just that will be made a little bit easier. It’s a website where independent film makers can show off their work to people around the world, reaching a broader audience while also earning them a little money. It’s open to all kinds of Indie films; short or long, documentaries, animation, fiction and experimental.
According to cinovu, “you may stumble across a horror film from Hungary or an experimental film from Uganda, as there are films to entice even the quirkiest tastes.” There is also the option to search for a film depending on your mood.
There is a team of three behind cinovu, who including film maker Shermin Voshmgir and two guys who describe themselves as developers by day, DJs by night. You can currently sign up as a test film maker, with the service set to go into closed beta in January.
