Startup Crawl Offers Glimpse Into Berlin Scene

By Conor Rushby |

The workspace of any company says a lot about its culture – and the Berlin Startup Crawl is offering the chance of a sneak peek inside the offices of some of the city’s hottest startups including Fab, 9flats, Delivery Hero, and SponsorPay.

It follows on from the very similar F@6 Tours earlier this year, which proved to be a big hit. And it’s a two-way street – Polish journalists and bloggers will be going along to witness firsthand a slice of the Berlin set up, while in November German startups will be invited east to get to grips with the scene in Krakow.

The Startup Crawl, which takes place on October 23, will see participants spending around an hour in each office, with a senior member of staff there acting as tour guide. They will be Projjol Banerjea, head of marketing and talent at SponsorPay, 9Flats co-founder Roman Rochel, Roman Kirsch, the senior VP of marketing at Fab, and Delivery Hero co-CEO Fabian Siegel.

Ticket holders can hunt for business tips by asking questions, observing the company culture, and soaking in the atmosphere of a successful startup.

The Polish contingent will include tech blogger Artur Krasinski and Tomek Raś of business portal Puls Biznesu. Dates for the November Krakow Startup Crawl are yet to be announced, but if the events are a success organisers Maciek Laskus and Clarissa Steinhoefel hope to take the concept to more cities.

Tickets cost €20 – lunch included – and afterwards participants will be invited for drinks, with the opportunity to mingle with members from the four companies and other attendees.

The idea of holding a startup tour in Berlin was initiated by Derk Marseille, creator and host of the FridayatSix radio show, with the first edition running in February and taking in the offices of Earlybirdtwago, and AUPEO. The next F@6 tour will be held this Friday; more details here.
