They say nothing stands still when it comes to the digital world, and boy, do they know what they’re talking about, whoever ‘they’ actually are. Hot on the heels of launching the all-new Silicon Allee platform last week, you may have seen the announcement yesterday of our partnership with re:publica, Berlin biggest and best tech conference.
It’s been one of my favourite events ever since I began writing about the digital life three years ago, and I’m thoroughly looking forward to helping the re:publica team put on its most international edition yet.
The numbers speak for themselves – the three-day festival is into its eighth year and in 2013 attracted more than 5,000 attendees to Station Berlin. Now our joint aim is to make 2014, which takes place from May 6-8 with the motto ‘Into The Wild’, even better.
In fact, we’ve already done some great things together, including Monday’s joint webinar with UKTI at the British Embassy – watch out for more info regarding what our panel of experts discussed.
The list of speakers confirmed so far for re:publica 14 is already an impressive one, including the likes of sociologist and economist Saskia Sassen, author Evgeny Morozov and Oxford Internet Institute professor Viktor Mayer-Schönberger, who will be discussing the big data revolution.
And don’t forget that re:publica is just part of Berlin Web Week from May 5-10, whose other events include the second running of the Lange Nacht der Startups, Next Berlin and Droidcon.
