Silicon Allee Live From IdeaLab! 2011

By David Knight |

I’m finally here in sunny Koblenz to cover IdeaLab! 2011 – you gotta love that exclamation mark – and it promises to be a fascinating couple of days. It’s one of Germany’s biggest tech conferences, and a bunch of big names are at the Otto Beisheim WHU School of Management in western Germany to talk, listen and network.

The theme of this year’s event – the 11th and, they promise, the best yet – is “Playground for Pioneers”, and the big panel discussion set for Saturday night will ask the big question: Is Berlin becoming the European Silicon Allee, or is it just a breeding ground for clones?

The discussion will be chaired by TechCrunch’s Mike Butcher and will include Dr. Florian Heinemann, CEO of Rocket Internet, Jens Begemann from wooga, Stefan Glaenzer from White Bear Yard and Passion Capital and Alexander Ljung from Soundcloud.

I’ll be reporting from Koblenz when I get the chance. Stay tuned for more!
