Europe’s largest Android developer gathering is coming to Berlin next week. Beginning with an all-day hackathon on Sunday, the four-day Droidcon event will give participants an opportunity to showcase their apps, network with fellow Android developers and get tips from the best in the business.
Droidcon is an international event that looks at the technical and economic aspects of the mobile-device platform. Organising events across Europe, Droidcon is now coming back to Berlin to host another session at the Urania, where participants can swap all the latest news and meet the Android community.
And it’s not just a great networking opportunity – there will also be a number of activities, such as the very first Droidcon hackathon. Kicking off the event, the hack day allows developers to come together at c-base space station and create Android apps. The audience will judge which ones are the best, with prizes from Vodafone and BugSense for the winners. An after-party will kick off Droidcon week.
The following day will be Droidcon Monday which is centred around socialising, before a barcamp on Tuesday which will provide the opportunity to propose talks or workshops directly to the other participants, who can vote for the sessions they wish to hear.
The Wednesday programme offers talks from a number of big players, including Intel, Sony, Deutsche Telekom and Wikitude.
