Berlin-based business networking site exploreB2B is expanding its activities abroad with an official US launch. The move comes only six months after its last investment round, and three months after launching its English-language site this past January.
Founded by Dr. Susanna Gebauer and her brother Jonathan Gebauer in 2010 and launched in Germany in November 2011, exploreB2B is an article-based platform for business-to-business communication and collaboration.
The service allows its users to find business partners, share knowledge, ideas and projects, and provides and easy and efficient way for companies to reach international talent and resources online – acting like a social networking site for business.
Jonathan explained the decision to launch in the US, citing the increased international demand and the vast opportunities available in the US market: “Until now, no other social network – professional or personal – has enabled companies and individuals to quickly and easily find the most relevant industry information, while offering a ‘blog-like’ article structure and ability to do business on the platform. exploreB2B makes B2B social media smarter and more efficient.”
According to Susanna, the platform also expands outside of the strict question-and-answers form layout, that services such as Quora use, meaning quicker access to relevant industry content.
The launch makes exploreB2B the latest Berlin startup to trying to break into the international market as the German capital’s tech scene increasingly looks to go global.
