A Full House at Silicon Allee’s August Meet Up

By Claire Adamson |

A big thank you to everyone who came to see us yesterday at Sankt Oberholz for the Silicon Allee August Meet Up. Despite being the middle of the summer holiday season there was a huge turn out, with more than 100 people coming and going throughout the morning.

As usual, there were both new and familiar faces exchanging air kisses and business cards and there was a general buzz of conversation as people sipped on their lattes and networked.

We were interested to know what kind of events people enjoy here in Berlin and took the opportunity yesterday to ask as much – with some surprising results. While networking events ranked pretty highly on the list, it was hackathons and developer events that seemed to be the most popular, even for the more non-technical people.

Unsurprisingly there is also a lot of excitement for Campus Party and TOA Berlin, which are both only a couple of weeks away now.

Many thanks to the excellent staff at Sankt Oberholz, who did a great job of dispensing coffee to the gathered crowd of entrepreneurs, developers, freelancers and investors. We will of course be doing it all over again in September, so watch this space for details – and make sure to check us out on Facebook and Twitter for updates.
