Win Free Tickets for the GetYourGuide Party!

Since opening it last January, tourist activity platform GetYourGuide has seen its Berlin office expand to more than 50 people. And the Zurich-based startup is now opening up an IT office in the German capital – and is throwing a party to mark the occasion. The exclusive PHP-themed event this Friday, November 2, will see five expert presentations from the likes of Couchbase‘s Jan Lehnardt followed by food, drink and some top music.

Silicon Allee will be there, and we want to bring some of our readers along with us, so we’ve got our hands on some free tickets – check out below for details on how to win.

As well as Jan, the speakers will include Bitextender managing director David Zuelke, Judith Andresen, IT project management consultant, Gordon Franke, enterprise solutions architect at Handango and Lars Jankowfsky, formerly of Swoodoo and currently CTO of Yatego.

Topics to be discussed range from the must-know PHP libraries to an analysis of corporate culture in transition – with each talk being only 20 minutes, the speeches will be short and snappy. There will also be a good mix of  developers, designers and CEOs to mingle with, while GetYourGuide will lay on a buffet and drinks for attendees. Homegrown Berlin electronic music courtesy of Zweihorn Disko will provide the after-speech entertainment.

Just leave your name and email address in the comment section below and we’ll pick the lucky recipients at random. The deadline for entry is 5pm on Wednesday, October 31.

GetYourGuide, which also has an office in Las Vegas, was founded in 2008 and now provides 15,500 activities for tourists to do in 1,600 destinations. Accounting and executive management are still in Zurich, but the bulk of operations are now handled in Berlin.

CEO Johannes Reck said: “The event event will be great for developers, who want to learn from the best of the class on how to build scalable websites and world class IT teams. For instance we will have Lars Jankowsfsky speaking, who was the CTO of Swoodoo and was hit by the hardest traffic in German internet history after their first TV ads – he will give a talk on how Swoodoo survived their first TV ads.”
