The annual Foursquare Day has arrived, with meet ups being held all around the world to celebrate. Berlin’s event will take place at the Sankt Oberholz cafe. The Entrepeneurs Club Berlin’s first startup lounge of 2013 will be held at the Haus Ungarn. The evening will focus on Search Engine Optimisation. There will be lectures and a panel with DefShop’s Simon Pokorny, BARK TING’s Michael Fritz, Trust Agents’ Stephan Czsych and SEO consultant Borrish Häring. Register here. Friday
This year’s Berlin Email Summit will focus on lifecycle marketing in the email channel. Visitors at the event will learn all about email marketing and how to profitably manage and develop the customers’ lifecycle. Speakers will include Germanwings’ Mark Phillip, buch.de’s Christine Gerstenberger and optivo’s Ulf Richter. For a whole day filled with lectures, workshops and networking, the cost is €94. In an attempt to place Norway in the startup scene alongside Berlin and London, Mesh, an entrepreneurial community and incubator will be holding an event called New Kids on the Block. There will be over 400 guests and speakers such as Sandbox’s Christian Busch, General Assembly’s Matthew Brimer, and 99Designs Eva Missling. Saturday
Rally.org and Ploonge have teamed up to show Berlin’s first ever public collective screening of The Startup Kids. In the film, Icelandic directors Vala Halldorsdottir and Sesselja Vilhjalmsdottir speak with young web entrepreneurs such as the founders of Soundcloud, Dropbox and Foodspotting. The evening kicks off with beer, wine and food, then the screening, and finally a DJ set. After many weeks of crowdsurfing it promises to be a good event. More details can be found here.
