End-to-end (E2E) e-commerce service provider 004 has closed a seven-figure growth financing round with VCDE Venture Partners. The 11-year-old company is based in Aschaffenberg, which is near VCDE’s home in Frankfurt.
Its services range from merchandising, order management and fulfillment to returns processing. An essential feature of the service model is the modularity and integration into a client’s ERP systems.
According to 004, the new funding will help the company strengthen its position as a leading E2E e-commerce service provider in the European market. Its current customers include Axel Springer – with its Bild.de brand – as well as football team FC Cologne, Sportarena and the Rheinische Post newspaper.
Robert Hein, the CEO of 004, said: “004 offers a unique solution package for brands, media, store chains and sports clubs. With this financing, we will expand our technology further and significantly increase our national and international sales activities. In VCDE, we have found the right partner to accompany us in this growth.”
Founded in 2008, VCDE focuses on the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), mobile, digital banking and payment and advertising spaces. Through its entrepreneur fund, venturecapital.de, the investor also provides its portfolio companies with access to a network of more than 150 technology entrepreneurs. According to a release, the company promised to offer 004 excellent access to potential new customers.
Andreas Thümmler of VCDE said: “We look forward to a successful collaboration with 004 and are confident that the Aschaffenburg-based E2E e-commerce service provider will deliver a very good business performance. I am convinced that this financing round will successfully raise this company to the next level.”
